Deck Chair
The deck chair is made of two thin walnut plywood sheets and two sets of stainless-steel buckle legs. The veneer sheets of the seat are sewn together in the middle and open like a book when the chair is to be used. With the movement, the flat seat is forced to form a spatial figure, and the trestles are attached by their spring force to the brackets on the underside. These fittings are also made of walnut. The tension legs fix the spatial shape of the seat, and the seat maintains the position of the legs.
The chair is held up by the forces that seek to break it down. Erling finds the contradiction very interesting.
