The chair consists of two parts, a seat and a back, which are stuck through each other and thus form a stable construction. When the chair is not in use, it can be hung from a bracket on the wall. During transport, the chair is also completely flat. It is exciting that the two curved shells can be combined so simply and form such a dynamic and interesting spatial figure.

The idea for the shape arose while he was cutting paper. Erling discovered that he could form a "lock" in the joint between the seat and back by curving the spinal plane in opposite directions from the central slit. The curvature was thus both comfort vise and constructively justified. The seat plane got a similar curvature for the same reasons.

The material is laminated maple. The strong curvatures make the construction rigid, which is why the chair's two shells are extremely thin and light.
