V-legs
This is a system of furniture legs. It is not a specific furniture design, but a system of legs that can be used in stools, benches and tables of any shape in two different thicknesses and lengths: round, rectangular or square. The joinery is very simple, so the furniture can be shipped unassembled. The wedge-shaped legs are tightened into the cutouts of the board using table screws, washers and nuts from the inside. The joint has a strong graphic expression that encourages contrasting wood types/colours, but you can of course also choose a more discreet composition. The tabletops/seats can be made of plywood, solid wood or honeycomb boards with veneer or linoleum - or simply painted. The construction with the wedge, which is tightened into the edge of the plate, is surprisingly strong.
This design is not for a specific piece of furniture – but rather a leg system that can be used in multiple pieces of furniture such as stools, benches, tables, etc.
The visual idea is this wedge that "cuts" into the edge of a tabletop or chair seat.
The V-leg has the same features as the L-leg by Alvar Aalto: Two different thicknesses and the ability to cut it to any length and fit it into any size and shape of a table/seat.
